What degree programs does AGTS
offer?
AGTS offers one academic degree, the M.A. in Theological
Studies, and five professional degrees: the Master
of Divinity; the M.A. in Christian Ministries;
the M.A. In Intercultural Ministries; the M.A.

How long will it take me?
For a 60 hour program, if you take 12 credit hours each semester
(nine credit hours is considered full-time) you can finish in
five semesters. Two years would be a comfortable pace for most
students. For a 90 hour program, if you take 12 hours each semester
(nine credit hours is considered full-time), you can finish in
7.5 semesters. Three years would be a comfortable pace for most
students.
How much is the tuition?
$479 per credit hour; $1437 per class. (Learn

Are women encouraged to participate
in all degree programs?
Yes. Our ratio of female to male students is increasingly among the highest for seminaries
in the United States.
What are the admission requirements?
Candidates for admission must have been born again for at least
3 years, display evidence of a dedicated Christian life, and
possess the following educational background: A Bachelor's degree
in any field from an acceptable 4-year college, with a minimum
GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 system. Persons with GPA's lower than 2.5
may request consideration for admission on academic probation.
(The M.Div. and M.A. In Theological Studies, Biblical Languages
concentration, require a first-year Greek prerequisite with
a minimum acceptable grade of "C" or its equivalent. You may

Does AGTS offer extension classes?
Yes. The AGTS Office of Continuing Education
offers a variety of courses in the Distance Learning Program.

AGTS also operates extension studies (non-traditional scheduling) at the main
campus in Springfield, Mo., the southwest region campus in Phoenix, Ariz., the
northwest region campus in Kirkland, Wash., the northcentral region campus in
Minneapolis, Minn., the northeast region campus in Phoenixville, Pa., and the
southeast region campus in Florida. The M.A.C.M. degree can be earned at any
of the six branch campuses. The M.Div. In-Service Track has a main campus residency
requirement of 30 credit hours, which may be earned through the non-traditional
module schedule.
Can I prepare for chaplaincy by
attending AGTS?
Yes. AGTS is an excellent preparatory seminary for Chaplaincy. It is one of very few that even offers a specific Military Chaplaincy concentration within the M.Div. and D.Min. programs. Chaplaincy Scholarships are available for resident students who intend to serve as institutional, occupational, military or Veteran Affairs chaplains. Visit the Assemblies

Does AGTS offer evening classes?
Yes. A variety of courses are offered in the evening Monday through Thursday.
Can I get scholarships or financial
aid?
Yes. Three scholarships are available for New Resident Students (learn
more about scholarships). The Presidential Honors Scholarship requires a GPA of at
least 3.5, strong leadership skills, and high aptitude for ministry and is an automatically
renewed annual award of $3,000. The Ministerial Merit scholarship is an annual award of
$2,000, also automatically renewed, requiring a minimum 3.0 GPA, leadership skills and
aptitude for ministry. The Christian Service Scholarship requires leadership skills, ministry
aptitude and a GPA of at least 2.5, and has a one-time, non-renewable award of $2,000.
Federal loan programs are also available to AGTS students (learn

Does AGTS offer on-campus housing?
The Seminary does not own or provide housing, but there are many apartments and houses
for rent in the city. The Enrollment Office produces a local housing list for students
seeking accommodations. Students are encouraged to seek housing early. There are approximately
28,000 students attending 14 educational institutions in the Springfield area which reduces
