Gill secures $10,000 for new curriculum

Dr. Deborah Gill, AGTS professor of biblical studies and exposition, secured a $10,000 grant from the Mustard Seed Foundation for the development of theology of work curriculum within the new Professional Coaching Cohort.

The foundation wants to enable pastors to effectively steward the callings and vocations of their congregants who are working in non-church-centered environments.

“The theology of work curriculum is riding the river of the global business as mission movement,” said Gill. The business as mission (BAM) movement seeks to use business to provide a Christian witness in local and international communities where there is little or no witness, to bless the same community with safe employment and to support the establishment of a local church. “BAM may be the most effective method of Great Commission work in the coming decades—especially in restricted-access nations,” said Gill.
